Get out of your la-z-boys, and go see this

There’s a bright comet in the morning and evening skies, dropping by for a limited-time engagement, so get out of your la-z-boys, grab a pair of binoculars, and check it out. [link]
Parents, this is a great time to get your kids interested and involved in the sciences, or specifically in astronomy, which can be a great hobby for a kid. (And a better one as an adult!)
Since comets mainly become visible when they’re closer to the sun, expect the comet to be “close to the sun” in the morning or evening sky. So timing is crucial, to catch the comet at optimum visibility, before the Sun washes it out in the morning, or before it does it at night.
The comet will be within a precious few degrees of the Sun.
As an astronomical rule of thumb, if you hold your open hand to the sky, with your thumb aligned with the horizon, your pinky finger will be about 23 degrees up. So, in the pre-dawn or dusk sky, the comet should be visible near the sun between your thumb and pinky.
