My Post-Debate Letter to CNN

Usually, I wouldn’t waste my time sending an e-mail missive in the full expectation that it would be promptly deleted. For once, after watching the latest “YouTube” debate on CNN, I couldn’t resist, especially since in discussing the debate with my fiancee, I just happened to be hitting on all eight rhetorical cylinders. Here’s what I sent, after the jump:

“Your “debate” was a sick joke, and a travesty to the democratic process.

Your network’s preferences in candidate are clear, and you waste no chance to marginalize candidates –on both sides of the aisle– that bring real ideas, and then proceed to actually ARTICULATE them, in favor of your preferred drones.

Your days on my television are over. And I think soon the rest of the country will realize that you’re not really presenting the news anymore, either, and you haven’t even been trying since Mr. Turner left.

I wish you media types would give the debates back to the League of Women’s Voters….who would think that a bunch of housewives would have more steel in their spines than a bunch of so-called journalists??

But, then, that’s not really what you are, anymore, are you? These days, you’re mouthpieces, not journalists.

You should be ashamed. Somewhere, Ed Murrow is doing a slow rotisserie turn in his coffin.”
