Edwards Out; Nader In, Obama gains on Hillbillary
By Brandon Dawson on Jan 30, 2008 in Politics
Firstly, with John Edwards stepping out, Ralph Nader is stepping in, making it even clearer that the real action will be after the nominations, with the potential for THREE third-party/independent candidates (Counting Bloomberg and Paul, assuming he stays in after the Republican Coronation.)
For me, the real revelation today was that of Edwards dropping out. I’d figured he’d do the expected calculated move of collecting delegates to win himself a stronger seat at the table come convention time, but it appears he’s taking the principled path.
And it poises Obama to overtake Hillary Clinton for good.
