What’s to become of Vonage? »

I’m willing to bet $1 that Verizon announces plans to acquire Vonage soon, using their victory in court as leverage to secure favorable terms.
Why else would they wait until Vonage had acquired millions of customers to launch their patent-troll lawsuit? And why else would they abstain from pursuing similar litigation against others in the VOIP [...]

This, in my opinion, makes them more formidable, long-term, than Google. They get the nimble reach of a legion of locally-oriented publications against whom to embrace, extend, and ultimately supplant.
